Other Database driven Web Sites

Although E-Commerce and Content Managment Systems represent a lot of the uses of database driven sites, there are a number of other applications commonly used around the Internet for solving business problems. We have implemented a number of these and list some of them below together with links , if relevant, to our clients sites as examples.

Estate Agents/Rental Agents - these sites are built using a block of software called Open Realty and provide elegant web solutions for two of our clients. The sites allow the display and searching of both rental and sale properties with specific features and prices. The properties themselves are uploaded from an administration back end with our clients writing their owncontent and uploading their own images.

Magic of Marbella Villa Rentals is based in the UK but dealing with rental property in Spain, North Estates deals with sales and rentals of properties around Manchester.

Forums, Bulletin Boards & Guest Books - These are  applications that can be addressed using database driven packages. These allow discussion boards to operate either as open or closed communities with varying levels of access. We have installed several of these in the past for our clients but they do require a level of maintenance after install to keep up upgrades for security purposes. Help Desk or Customer Support Systems - many smaller organisations are sometimes overrun with support calls from their customers. In an effort to keep good levels of customer relations, its often tempting to deal with these immediately. One solution is to implement a web based customer problem system.

This can automate customer queries with a ticket system, so they log their own queries on a database, receive confirmation by email  and can track progress online.
