A Basic Web Site Plan
So now you know what you need to set up a site, in terms of domain name , hosting and design but in order to get the best start to your project, it will help to have evrything organised on paper when you begin talking to us ( or your other chosen designer ). Here is a series of headings with some prompts to allow you to make some notes to summarise what needs to be done. What is the purpose of the web site ?
see our setting up page as a refresher, what must it do , what would be nice to have
Domain Name ?
have you thought about a name, have you checked to see if its available ? .co.uk or .com ? ( usually .co.uk is fine )
Look and feel of the site ?
have you seen other sites you like? what are their URLs ( domain names ) ? do you have a corporate colour scheme and a logo?
Number of pages ?
have you considered how many pages you will need ? draw up a little box arrangement and label them
What material do you have now ?
do you have content / text for the site, is it in electronic format? What about images, logos ?
Who will be responsible for the site ?
liasing with web designer, providing copy/content
What is the budget for the project?
